Whoever said “You can’t have your cake and eat it, too” obviously wasn’t using Macrostax! Our whole philosophy, that hundreds of thousands have adopted, is geared towards feeding your body with the right food to reach your goals, while also being able to enjoy the foods you love!
One of the things that I love most about Macrostax since I’ve been following the program (for the last 4 years!), is that I have never felt restricted. Am I hungry some days? Sure. But when that happens, I know the right choices I can make in order to still hit my goals. Over time, I’ve found a few hacks that help me stay satiated while I still get to eat my favorite things. Below, I’ve shared a few of my go-to dinner and drink combos, as well as provided a peek into my actual Macrostax Food Log so you can see first hand what I eat the rest of the day in order to ensure I still hit my macros!
Pizza and Beer
On Friday nights, my husband and I frequent a local bar (The Growler Factory) with over 40 beers on tap and taps rotating weekly. So, you know I’m going to want to try a few! Here’s my typical Friday night:
- 12 oz 9% ABV (logged either as fats or carbs)
- 1 sub roll from our grocery bakery (split in 2)
- Tomato sauce
- 3 slices Canadian bacon
- 5 banana pepper slices
- 2 Cremini mushrooms, sliced and sautéed in Pam
- 28g Gourmet Pizza Blend shredded cheese
- 42g Fat Free Mozzarella shredded cheese

Tacos and Margarita
No one should have to give up Taco Tuesday…and when you can add a margarita to the mix and still get your green thumbs, why would you? Taco Tuesday is sometimes the highlight of my week, so here is my healthy version that fits my macros:
- 2 Xtreme Wellness wraps
- 4 oz lean ground beef (93/7 or 96/4) + taco seasoning (I make a Custom Recipe) *occasionally, I’ll swap the ground beef for store bought marinated fajita chicken thighs
- 1/3 red bell pepper, sautéed
- 1/3 yellow bell pepper, sautéed
- 1/3 sweet onion, sautéed
- 28g avocado (mashed w/salt, garlic powder & a splash of lime juice)
- 14g 2% Mexican blend shredded cheese
- Skinny Margarita (Macrostax recipe)

Chicken Parmesan and Red Wine
Italian night is a favorite in our house, as my husband grew up in upstate New York and it was part of his family routine then. While some typical Italian recipes can be high in carbs and fat, we’ve found a way to make it work for us and still get to enjoy a glass of wine as well! Here’s my typical Italian night (with a glass of vino, of course!):
- 168g Broccoli, Steamed with salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp Light Butter with Canola Oil (Land O’Lakes) for broccoli
- 7 oz Red Zinfandel *5 oz is a typical pour, but I like big pours

Burgers, Fries & Beer
With summer comes cookouts, and with cookouts you can expect burgers and beer! Well, you can enjoy both of those, in the company of family and friends AND still get your green thumbs! Here’s how I keep my burger night light:
- 1 light beer (100ish calorie IPAs are my new treat!) *if I want 2 beers, I skip the hamburger bun*
- 1 hamburger bun
- 4 oz lean ground beef (93/7 or 96/4) + seasonings (salt, pepper, cumin, ground mustard, garlic & whatever else I feel like throwing in)
- 1 slice Sargento Ultra Thin cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp mustard
- 6 kosher dill hamburger pickle slices
- 85g Alexia Sweet Potato Tots – made in the air fryer or oven (I’m not really a fries girl, but Alexia has a lot of great options!)
